Ms. LaVerne

In 1973 LaVerne left Chicago to attend Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa and four years later received her Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts with minor concentrations in Business and Humanities.  Ms. Armstrong married in 1977 and from that union was blessed with three children.  LaVerne has been a resident of Cincinnati since 1990. In 1994 she was employed by Loveland City School District (a suburb of Cincinnati).  This new career direction was a move back to an area for which there had always been a passion, education and learning.

In 2008, after thirteen years in public education, LaVerne began the M.A.P. Center whose purpose is to provide children whose families may lack the financial resources to gain access to  high quality early learning experiences for their children. The M.A.P. Center will provide a foundation which will prepare them for the rigorous challenges of school.  She wants these children to have the same type of experience as those whose families have financial or geographical access to this type of early learning experience.   The M.A.P. Center will not only provide basic preparation, for their students, but also provides the exposure necessary for lifelong success in learning, character development and a vision for a successful future.

Mrs. Artetta

A native Cincinnatian, Artetta has also lived in Alaska.  Some fourteen years ago when she began volunteering in her daughter's preschool classroom, Artetta knew that she was destined to work with children.  She loved working with the preschool aged children so much that she changed her educational goals, her course of study and began her studies in Early Childhood Education.  Artetta completed her studies at University of Cincinnati and holds an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education.

Artetta brings not only her love of working with young children to the M.A.P. Center family, but years of experience and a wealth of knowledge.  She has a special way with the children and has brought her creativity and caring spirit to our center.  In addition to serving as administrator, Artetta spends part of her day in the classroom, working her wonders with the children in the center. We are truly blessed and excited to have her!

Our Toddler Teacher

Miss Tamisha

Miss Tamisha is originally from Indiana, but grew up here in Cincinnati.  She brings a quiet and calming spirit to our toddler room and yet provides exciting activities to stimulate our toddler's imaginations and learning.  Tamisha has her Child Development Association credentials for working with children in early childhood education and brings  experience as well.  Your toddler will have a wonderful time with Miss Tamisha!
